CURRICULUM
Film Arts Education Department prides itself on offering classes that encompass the entire breadth of the filmmaking experience. From semester-length classes in screenwriting, digital production, and sound design to evening and weekend classes on essential topics such as documentary production and directing, working with actors, HD workflow and camera, color correction, Final Cut Pro, Super 16mm, sound design, art direction, working with actors, fiscal sponsorship, fundraising, and distribution. The Education Department offers a schedule more comprehensive than many university film programs taking you through the entire production process. Classes are typically offered in progression, allowing students to move from beginning to advanced topics in a logical fashion. Learn to create, fund, shoot, edit and distribute your film.
Our classes and workshops reflect standard curriculums in filmmaking: Production, Post-Production, Screenwriting, Producing, Documentary, Experimental, Professional Development, Media Activism and Masters Classes For Experienced Makers.
The Executive Consulting Program offers one on one consultation to advanced clients with specific needs in fundraising, legal, literary, distribution and festival coaching.
For youth filmmakers, Film Arts established TILT, which facilitates collaborative media workshops with schools or partnering youth organizations, and offers individual enrollment for our Youth Filmmaker Summer Intensive program (www.tiltmedia.org).
Our passionate teaching staff, comprised of award-winning filmmakers, industry professionals and guest speakers from around the country teach multiple classes through out the year.
In the spirit of true independence, we encourage students to take classes from our diverse catalogue, mixing and matching ideas, styles and methods of film making to create documentary and narrative films that reflect unique voices.
Disclaimers
Film Arts Foundation may at times need to cancel classes due to low enrollment. Therefore we strongly encourage signing up in advance, even for classes with unlimited enrollment.
